Another friend has his own domain hosted by a domain registrar and swears by it. It is easy to relate to others because it is his own name. He also was able to build an attractive site with an inexpensive web site program. I question whether this makes sense for a personal web page. Maybe if you are going to use it in someway for business purposes. Has anyone had any experience that they can pass along? Thanks.

Start the "Dialogue"

I suspect that there are millions like me who are fascinated by the wonderful world of the internet and would like to become a knowledgable user. There are a multitude of sites offering to sell services at widely varying prices to those of us who would like to establish a presence on the web. What are the basics that we need? What should it cost? I've done some searching and hope that through this blog I will be able to converse with others who are willing to share their own experiences. I've listed a couple of links I've found. Hopefully others will add more as we explore this experiment together.
